5G or not to G. That is the question, and we have the answers.

Basically, 5G is the next generation of mobile broadband that will eventually replace your traditional 4G LTE connection. In case you’re curious, LTE is an abbreviation for Long Term Evolution, the type of wireless technology that we have become reliant on to download, stream, surf the web and check email. Before 4G, there were three generations of wireless networking technology, and with each new generation, we saw faster and faster data transfer rates.

As you might suspect, the need for speed supersedes all! Consequently, hello to 5G. Unlike LTE, 5G operates on three different spectrum bands. We could dive deeper into the science behind 5G, but we can already sense your eye roll. Suffice it to say, in major cities, because of increased demand, carriers are running out of LTE capacity dictating the need for change. 5G will undoubtedly revolutionize the future of wireless with advances in connectivity, latency improvements and enhanced bandwidth ensuring that our Smart Cities of the future will meet the demands of evolving technologies and applications.
